Logan, Beshears and Juda Residence Halls -- photography by Hollie MillerLogan Hall is named in honor of the John Sublett Logan family. The John Sublett Logan Business Fellowship Program has assisted numerous Missouri Western students to attain graduate degrees in business, law, accounting and economics.

The family’s involvement does not stop with the college and their mark can be seen on the history of St. Joseph as a whole. John Byrne Logan was a leading force in bringing the Air National Guard to St. Joseph and historian Sheridan Logan continues to be actively involved in the community and is the author of "Old Saint Jo, Gateway to the West, 1799-1932."

Beshears Hall is named in honor of Kelsy B. Beshears, a highly respected advocate for the civil rights movement in this community and in the state of Missouri. A graduate of Howard University, Mrs. Beshears was a schoolteacher and the first guidance counselor in the Washington, DC School District. In 1946, She moved to St. Joseph and served as president of the local and state chapters of the NAACP and as coordinator for the regional chapters. In 1968, she developed the Brookdale East Apartment Complex, which she continued to operate until her death.

A Resident Assistance In the Residence Hall Offices -- photography by Hollie MillerJuda Hall is named in honor of Peggy and the late Eugene Juda. The Judas have supported higher education for many years and established the Eugene S. Juda Family Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students. Mrs. Juda is an active volunteer in the St. Joseph community through her participat with the United Way, Open Door Food Kitchen and Temple Adath Joseph.
